How to go to heaven

 "HOW TO GO TO HEAVEN?" A question I had for 17 years of my life. On September 14, 1997 I got my answer!  If you are not sure that you will go to heaven when you die, Here is a simple plan of salvation from God’s Word:

1.  Realize you are a sinner.

      

Romans 3:23  “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;”

2. Realize that you deserve to die and go to Hell because of your sin.

Romans 6:23  “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”

Revelation 21:8  “But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.”

We must realize that even if we have only committed what we would call “small sins,” we are still guilty of breaking God’s laws, and we deserve to spend eternity in Hell.

The lake of fire was made for the devil and his angels. The devil will, one day, be bound and cast into the lake of fire.   However, because of sin, many people will also go to the lake of fire. Ezekiel 18:20 “The soul that sinneth, it shall die.”  

3.  Believe that Jesus died to pay the penalty for your sins.

Romans 5:8  “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”

Matthew 9:2  “And, behold, they brought to him a man sick of the palsy, lying on a bed: and Jesus seeing their faith said unto the sick of the palsy; Son, be of good cheer; thy sins be forgiven thee.”

Jesus has the power to forgive sins.  He died, was buried, and He rose again, conquering the power of sin and death!

4.  Trust in Jesus Christ alone for your salvation.

Ephesians 2:8-9  “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.”

Acts 16:31  “And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.”

Do you realize that you are a sinner?  Do you realize that you deserve death and Hell because of your sin?  Do you believe that Jesus died, was buried, and rose again, to pay for your sins and give you salvation?  Do you choose to trust in Jesus alone to save you?

If you answered “yes,” to all of these questions, then tell God that you are accepting His gift, Jesus Christ, as your Saviour.  You can say a prayer like this:

“Dear Jesus, I know I am a sinner.  I know that I deserve to go to Hell because of my sin.  I believe You died to pay for my sins.  I trust You, and only You to save me.  Thank you for saving me today.  Amen.”
